Is there anything more tiresome and more likely to induce eye-rolling across America than the word “Islamophobia?”
Here is another coined word, cleverly designed to make those who believe in the U.S. Constitution not only keep quiet about the inroads of radical Islam but feel guilty about not viewing Islam as something on a par with the Loyal Order of Moose.
Today we have the spectacle of Muslim clergy seeking police protection so people can worship unmolested during the month of Ramadan. Courant writer Susan Campbell takes Operation Save America to task for picketing or harassing a Bridgeport mosque. I do not know why this organization chose to do this and I do not approve of such tactics, as they do not reflect the Spirit of Christ.
But despite the lack of wisdom and perhaps charity on the part of those protestors, the concept of Islamophobia is a fraud and a sham. No sooner does Ramadan begin than we see nearly 2,000 articles on Google News concerning Islamophobia, which points to a high level of complicity and cooperation between Islamists and the left-tilting media. In other words, in case you miss my meaning, Ramadan is being used for PR purposes, plain and simple.
What could be more obvious to any unbiased observer than the fact that Muslims have it, well, pretty good in this country. Just for starters, Muslims here have the ability to vote and have a standard of living they don’t have in the Middle East (except in Israel). I would also hasten to add that Muslims of both sexes have equal rights here.
We are sick and tired of hearing about Islamophobia already. I guarantee that if 9/11 had happened under Democratic icon FDR, Muslims would have been rounded up and interned as were the Japanese. In that less gentle day of 1941, there might have been many private reprisals, too. Yet, despite the horrors of 9/11 there were no Muslims dragged out into the streets and killed, there were no firebombings of mosques, no mass deportations, no declarations of martial law. Apparently someone had to go all the way to Texas just to find 12 people rowdy enough to be willing to yell at a Muslim.
So, is America infected with Islamophobia? I don’t think so.
Because Islamophobia – as Muslims define it – is a myth.
And yet for all that Islam is not to be viewed on a par with the Loyal Order of Moose. With apologies to George W. Bush, Islam does not mean “peace,” it means “submission.” Islamists worldwide are hard at work to replace the US Constitution and the governing systems of other nations in favor of Islamic sharia law.
We do not want this.
We do not want to be told that America is not a Christian nation – but that it is a Muslim nation.
We do not want special Islamic prayer rooms in airports and schools.
We do not want judges to excuse criminal behavior by saying that the perpetrator’s religious belief negates a criminal state of mind.
We do not want to be told we can’t eat certain foods and do certain things which we have always done because it may offend Muslims (pay attention to what is happening in Britain and Holland).
We do not want to be told how much Muslims revere Jesus when in fact the Islamic Jesus, they tell us, is coming to abolish Christianity and convert the world to Islam.
We are tired of hearing Muslims say that Jews are the filthy “sons of apes and pigs.”
Where do we learn these things?
Why, we learn them from reading the Koran and other Muslims writings, just as Susan Campbell tells us to.
Should we be “phobic” of such a belief system?

What an excellent article, with one comment that concerns me. The group of Christians who went to the mosque in Bridgeport have reflected the Spirit of Christ in many ways. The original CT Post article was the main catalyst in spreading lies about the actions of Operation Save America CT. No one screamed “murderers” at children coming in and out the mosque. That was a pure fabrication.
I continue to get positive reports (of course never mentioned in the left wing media coverage) of local street evangelists preaching in front of the mosque and having good discussions with Muslims at this location. So much of the hysteria was created by the media.

Thoughful article but, like Richard I have one concern. You obviously are a Christian, a thinking person, and well informed. I agree with your whole artice except the comment that you ” do not agree with such tactics, as they do not reflect the spirit of Christ.” I am concerned that you took the word of the “liberal media” on what happened at the mosque. What really happened is so different from the lies in the paper. What really happened is that Christians loved their neighbors, the people caught in that heretical and violent “belief system.” enough to evangelize at the very place where they knew they would find many muslims. They handed out tracts, the Gospel of John and spoke to those who would speak to them. They cared enough to warn them that that belief will lead them straight to hell. They loved their neighbors – that is the Spirti of Jesus!!

I concur with everything in your article, with the exception of the fabricated lies– alleged by the media– about OSA. I have participated with Operation Save America on several occasions and found their actions to be civil, respectful, and very effective. Hence… the reason for the fabrication and lies.
If they can’t kill the message — kill the messenger. Please…next time consider checking with the group that’s being painted with an ugly brush. So often these days, the good guys are being falsely portrayed by artist who are bias and have an agenda. OSA was simply sharing the same message you conveyed in your article. These are truly Christian people –America’s Missionaries.
When protesting at homo parades, we Christians are accused of being full of hate. I explain to the homos that the ones who are really full of hate are themselves because they refuse to warn their homosexual friends, relatives, and neighbors that they are in a spiritually and physically destructive lifestyle that threatens a horrible, early death and, worst of all, eternity in hell. The same goes for going to the mosque. We were warning the Muslims who their leader really is and that they’re also headed to hell.
The media used the Mosque outreach to try to show hated for Moslems when in fact the group from Operation Save America Connecticut were actually loving the Moslem’s by witnessing to them that their only hope is in Jesus Christ. If we love enough we will care about where people spend eternity and we will go where they are to tell them the truth even when we will be vilified by the press, the lost and sadly those who share our beliefs.
Americans need to stop and think if they want their grandchildren living in an Islam nation. Islam is the fastest growing religion in America. Go or study what its like to live in Saudi Arabia. Study what “sharia” law is and how women are looked upon by Islam. Freedom isn’t free, we have to fight to keep it. Jesus said to “preach the gospel to every creature”. Hello Christians! that means Muslims too. Jesus loves Muslims and wants them saved out of their false religion to the truth. I appologize but I believe that you are deeply misinformed. I think that you believe what you do about muslims because of what you see about radical muslims in the news. I believe that if you ever sat down with true non-radical muslim you would see and understand how peaceful Islam really is. Honestly if you are preaching the word of God then you would know that God preaches tolerance, and forgivance. Allah (God in the arabic language, same God) tells us in the Quran that we should love our neighbors, and not to hold hate in our heart. Look Nick in this day and age I see how you can be easily misinformed, I promise though if you ever sat down with a non-radical group of muslims then you would see how peaceful this religion truly is and how much we are alike!
